Lincoln Continental Canvas

Studio BUCK
Role Associate Creative Director

BUCK partnered with Hudson Rouge, artist Brendan Monroe, and neuroscientist Dr. Oshin Vartanian to create an interactive mural with aesthetics inspired by the design of the iconic Lincoln Continental, which bestowed a sense of revitalization and calmness on the user, similar to the feeling that riding in a luxurious sedan might give.

BUCK consulted on the project from concept, technical development,  worked closely with all parties while designing, developing, and installing the AR effect in Miami during Art Basel. The AR ran on the Instagram platform and used the mural as a tracking image to anchor the AR to the IRL wall. I was interviewed in the behind-the-scenes featurette.

The AR effect was accessed through a QR code on the light box pillars I designed. When users touched the white space on the mural, they created ribbons of sound and color that danced along the contours of the art. The palette of colors users could select was inspired by the car paint options available for the 2020 Lincoln Continental.

Each color had a corresponding calming sound, designed by Antfood. The user could layer multiple colorful ribbons, creating their own visual and audio composition.
I was lucky enough to travel to Miami for the installation and was interviewed for the featurette.
